## Description

The number of link retraining events that have occurred on a specific Ethernet channel. A retrain happens when the link needs to re-establish synchronization, which can indicate signal integrity issues. This metric reads the retrain count directly from device memory.

## Values

**Type:** Unsigned Integer

**Units:** None

**Allowable values:**
A non-negative integer representing the cumulative count of retrain events. A value of `0` indicates no retrains have occurred.
